rain
i was driving home from church this afternoon
as soon as i got out of surrey, into the new westminster region, it started POURING buckets and buckets of water. it rained so hard that i had to slow down to 50 (from 120) to drive safely.
i couldn't help but smile and praise God
let me explain
it was pouring rain this morning in vancouver
yes, it's not uncommon for this to happen
except today, our church (along with 15-20 other churches in surrey) were doing a joint outreach event called "love surrey"
(www.loveyourcity.com)
it's a joint nationwide event where christians show God's love to their community through acts of kindness (free car washes, mowing lawns, picking up garbage, passout out free food, pop, water, etc). it's hard to do this when it rains.
but the sun was out in surrey (about a 40 minute drive from vancouver, for my international readers). there were some clouds. perfect weather to be out and about. so our water bottle handout was successful, we passed out a little card as well, tell people that God loves them and that because of that, we want to show love to others as well. everyone that got free water had a very positive response - we were able to bless 1300 people today with free water.
when it was all over, i started driving home. and as soon as i got over the bridge seperating surrey from new westminster/burnaby/vancouver, it started POURING.
this is the God that i worship and serve. the God that controls the sun, the rain and the wind. what a priviledge it is to be in relationship with Him. He's the King of kings, the Lord of lords, and the creator of the universe. praise Him!
The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"
~Matthew 8:27~

What can i say? Who is there like Him? "And God said, "let there be light," and there was light" (gen 1:3).
Life is so much more exciting knowing Him, eh? :)
