on food
all i have to say is that cooking for one person is a waste. consider the preparation of the food required, the time spent cooking, and then the washing and cleaning afterwards. all this trouble, and i eat my meal in no more than 10 minutes. between doing this and just eating fastfood, fastfood would win hands down. in fact, between cooking for myself and fasting, i would probably choose fasting.
my only consolation is that i cooked enough to last 3-4 meals.
(on a side & irrelevant note, i discovered an old piece of steak sitting in my fridge, from who knows when. there was an interesting something growing on it. i would call it "mold", but it seemed to big to be mold. but then again, it was growing on a previously juicy piece of steak, which might be the optimal environment for mold growth.)
what i need to do is start a dinner club or something. one where the club members would take turns cooking for each other. this makes the preparing, cooking & cleaning worthwhile, because multiple people will be enjoying the food. i think meals aren't meant to be eaten alone. they're meant to be shared, just like other parts of life.
so i now present the 2004-vancouver-summer-dinner-club-for-those-who-wish-to-share-a-meal-with-others. (2004 VSDCFTWWTSAMWO for short)
so who's in? ;)
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
