immeasurably more

my grandma is now asleep. her body is still functioning, but she won't wake again. me and all my family have spent the last 4 days at the hospital, always someone by her bedside. we all said our "goodbyes" on friday, while she was still partially aware of her surroundings. but now she's asleep and unaware of what's around her. yet we still stay as long as we can. sometimes i feel like i've let go, yet at times, sadness still overwhelms me and i weep.

and now we just wait...

i keep on asking God why my grandma's still here, why He hasn't taken her home yet.

yesterday my grandpa (dad's dad) came to visit my grandma (mom's mom). he came unexpected. and as he saw my grandma lying in bed, i think his heart softened. later when my dad took my grandpa home, he was able to share the good news and the assurance of heaven to him again. and this time, my grandpa prayed to receive Christ, after many years of distancing himself to Christianity. praise God.

as my father shared the news with me, i realized that God was working, still working. He still has a purpose for my grandma's life, even though she's not awake. He's using her significantly, to the very last minute.

praise God.

this morning we were able to have a sunday service with my grandma and relatives at the hospital room. as my father shared this morning, many of my non-Christian relatives got to hear of the message of hope.

praise God.

my grandma's last wish that her family would come to know and accept Christ has been shared with everyone. my grandma being in the hospital has created a rare opportunity for all of my family to spend a few days together. and during this time my Christian relatives had opportunities to have spiritual conversations with my non-Christian relatives.

praise God.


Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
