RISK?

in the lyrics to a ten shekel shirt song, it goes "It all begins with a risk". risk. i was talking to my good friends on saturday about risk. we were saying that we must take risks in our lives (or steps of faith), to get out of our comfort zone. when we are vulnerable, God is able to use us more.

but i was thinking to myself - here are the 2 options. one - making the decisions in my life (a.k.a. staying in my comfort zone, taking less risk). two - surrendering control and allowing God to make the decisions in my life (a.k.a. taking steps of faith, and taking risk in my life).

now which option is the riskier one? who would i rather have in control of my life? me, a limited, weak, human who makes so many mistakes? or God, the creator of my life?

it's ironic that when i step out of my comfort zone, i am stepping into God's comfort zone (if that makes sense). just like the irony of the verse below.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.
