I was in my small group tonight - we have a good time of worship, bible study, sharing, prayer, and fellowship. this group really gives me strength, and sharpens me.
as i was pondering tonight, i realize that i'm very malnourished - spiritually. my quiet times this past month have been of lesser quality. and i didn't think anything was different in my life. and so i was even less motivated to spend good time with the Lord. but just thinking tonight, i realize that i'm unable to do certain things, because i'm weak, because i haven't been eating (spiritually) well.
here are the symptoms: my motivation to serve at church has decreased. my enthusiasm to bless and edify others has died down. my eyes and my thoughts wander alot more. i struggle with temptations longer. my patience with my siblings has decreased. i have less self-control & discipline. my judgments of others has increased. my prayer times are mediocre. and i just seem to be trying to make it through life, just trying survive the next day. my sense of adventure is forgotten.
the more i think about it, the more serious it is. i know the Evil One is trying to downplay the significance of time spent with God. and i've been convinced by him. but now i'm beginning to realized the urgency of the situation. this cannot wait until tomorrow. i must start NOW. even though it's late and i have to wake up early for work, time with God is more important. i must eat, and eat well. it is required to live a healthy life.
i know it will take time to build up my strength again, but i must start. so if u read this, next time u talk/chat with me, PLEASE ask me about my quiet times. ask me what the Lord has been telling me. ask me what i'm learning. i am in need for accountability. thank u
now i sign off, i'm hungry and i want to eat.
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful.
