God-moment

a wise person once told me to be aware of the God-moments of my life. A God-moment gives life. It gives me joy or peace and reason to celebrate.

a few days ago, i had just visited celebration and bought a new CD. and as there was still 45 minutes before my next appointment, i sat in my car, ripped opened up the CD and listened. (of course i couldn't just sit and listen, i HAD to be doing something else. so i took out the book my sister had lent me, "a love worth giving" by max lucado, and started reading)

the chapter was on kindness, the kindness of Jesus. and as i read, my hardened heart melted at this side of Jesus that i had never understood before. the kindness that led Jesus to save the hosts of the wedding banquet from looking bad by providing more wine, the kindness that touched Zaccheus when Jesus met him in his home.

as i read, the music played. the lyrics went like this: "You make me beautiful, You make me stand in awe, You look inside my heart and i am amazed. i love to hear You say, who i am is quite enough, You make me worthy of love and beautiful".

and as i listened to this and soaked in what i had read, the kindness and love of Jesus overwhelmed me and i began to weep. i felt so unworthy, but yet so loved. all in that one moment.

a God-moment


The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD , for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD , but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
