in search for life

how did God create me to live? that's what i'm searching for... hopefully we can help each other out, in our search for purpose, for fulfillment, for freedom, for true life.

God's response

i was chatting today with a friend about God's responses. and i realized, i don't really think about how God responds. it seems like i already know how God will answer. like when i do something, God will respond by being either a) angry, b) happy, c) sad, d) disappointed, e) He says "well done good and faithful servant".

not really alot of choices come to think of it.

am i limiting how God responds in my life? do i already have a preconceived notion of God, who He is, and how He reacts in certain situations?

i realized that these ideas i have are not allowing God to be who He is. God can be full of surprises. and He can respond in a way that will shock me. maybe i like my "God" to be predictable, and so i respond on His behalf. but what kind of relationship is that? a true relationship allows the people involved the freedom to be who they are. and if i want my relationship with God to grow, i have to stop speaking for Him, and allow Him to speak for Himself, to respond for Himself, even if it's something i don't expect. and in the same way, God allows my the freedom to be myself in this relationship, to say or feel or react the way i do.

what a refreshing thought

~Exodus 3:14~
God said to Moses, "I am who I am"
